AirCare Program Information:
The AirCare program is one of the most effective vehicle emissions inspection and maintenance programs in North America. Read more about program benefits.
- 1991 and older vehicles are inspected on an annual basis using an ASM test procedure costing $23.
- 1992 and newer vehicles receive a more comprehensive emissions inspection on a biennial basis (every second year), called an IM240 test, for $45.
- Eligible 1998 and newer light-duty vehicles receive an On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system test for $45 on a biennial basis (every second year).
- 1992 and newer vehicles that cannot be tested on a dynamometer (road simulator) receive an idle-only test each year. The fee for inspection is $23.
- Re-inspections for all vehicles that fail their initial inspection cost $23.
AirCare Inspection Centres are open Monday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. till 5 p.m. There are 10 AirCare Inspection Centres located throughout Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Read more about inspections.
