2006 AirCare AirWaves Scholarship Recipients
The AirCare program and its partners the British Columbia Medical Association, British Columbia Lung Association, Jack Bell Ride-Share, Environmental Youth Alliance and Envirotest Canada, are pleased to announce the winners of the 2006 AirCare AirWaves Radio Scholarship Contest.
2006 AirWaves Scholarship Recipient #1
Carla Visscher Hensel is a Grade 12 student at Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey. For her winning entry, Carla was awarded a $1,000 scholarship for use toward her post-secondary education and her school received a $250 grant to support an environmental initiative at the school. Carla plans to pursue a career in tourism and marketing after graduation.

2006 AirWaves Scholarship Recipient #2
Jason Lee and Brian Leung are Grade 12 students at Charles E. London Secondary in Richmond. For their winning entry, Jason and Brian shared a $1,000 scholarship for use towards their post-secondary education and their school received a $250 grant to support an environmental initiative at the school. Jason was accepted into BCIT and will enrol in their sales and marketing program this fall. Brian plans to attend UBC.

2006 AirWaves Scholarship Recipient #3
Owen Chen is a Grade 12 student at J.N. Burnett Secondary in Richmond. For his winning entry, Owen was awarded a $1,000 scholarship for use towards his post-secondary education and his school received a $250 grant to support an environmental initiative at the school. Owen plans to attend Kwantlen College this fall and study computer science.

The AirWaves partners held a special draw for all contest finalists for a chance to win an Apple 2GB iPod Nano. The winner of the iPod is Blake Rodocker from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey.
